Client-based anti-XSS filters like NoScript and web application firewalls (WAFs) help protect these applications. Giorgio Maone has discovered an obscure feature involving international character set "homoglyphs" can be used to bypass these protections on these legacy apps. He calls this type of exploit HomoXSSuality.
